Promise

A cluster of clematis buds: this shot taken about 5 days ago. Two days ago they were covered with a dusting of snow. But they, along with the songs of birds not heard since last Fall, gives me hope that two very challenging seasons have passed. As new life awakens in the Earth, I pray it awakens in me.

Pandora's Box: GPP Street Team Crusade No. 17

There, all cozy in my nest, the lid has come off Pandora's box. Contained within this box is possibility, inspiration, opportunity, and yes, definitely hope.
In addition to a variety of pens, pencils, and markers, are other tools and materials for art journaling. Stencils. Rub-on letters. Images from magazines and brochures. Words cut from various sources. And a blank book to work in---spiral-bound smooth watercolor paper in a comfortable size: 7 x 10 inches. Not too big, not too small.
I've journaled, I've collaged, I've doodled, painted, stamped. But I've never "art journaled." I've thought about it often. But then, I think about a lot of things. Assembling these items in one place, and keeping it near my nest, might motivate me to do something other than "think" about it.
Special thanks goes to a friend who saw this challenge and thought of me. You are curious about why she thought of me? She knows I often go by the name "Pandora!" Perhaps I'll share that story at another time!
